American Samoa

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade is not issuing a specific travel advisory for American Samoa at this time.

Due to the current outbreak of measles in Samoa, travellers intending to visit American Samoa are now required to demonstrate proof of immunisation at the border before entering the territory. Please read our measles information before travelling.

New Zealanders travelling or living in American Samoa should have comprehensive medical and travel insurance policies in place that include provision for medical evacuation by air.

New Zealanders travelling or living in American Samoa are encouraged to register their details with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
