Wildfires near Bordeaux, France

Since July 22, 2026, wildfires have been burning in Southwestern France in the Gironde and Landes regions near Bordeaux and Arcachon Bay.

Local authorities have evacuated of tens of thousands of residents and tourists. 

French authorities are advising people to avoid the affected areas. If you are near a wildfire:

• follow the instructions of local authorities, including evacuation orders
• monitor local media for up-to-date information
